A tree grown from seed will take 20 years to bear fruit. The oldest sweet chestnut tree, believed to be 2000 to 4000 years old lives near the crater of Mount Etna in Sicily. It holds a Guinness World Record for the Greatest Tree Girth Ever with a circumference of 57.9m (190 ft).
